The Quest Management System (QMS) / Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead plays a key role in the definition, development, implementation, and on-going improvement of the QMS frameworks.  The role will be responsible for the facilitation of QMS / CI events across the organization, helping form and inform new and existing Value Stream teams, and promoting accountability and transparency across all levels of the organization. Responsible for multiple initiatives, consistently implementing QMS / CI tools / practices throughout the organization.  This includes the implementation of sustainable process improvements as well as the tracking and measuring the results. Overall quality, productivity improvements, and employee / customer satisfaction will be the key focus for this role through the implementation of standard work, visual and daily management, 5S, variation reduction as well as other QMS / CI tools. In addition, transactional process and efficiency improvements as well as the implementation of Kanban systems will also be will also be in the scope for this position. This role will also be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply QMS / CI Principles and Tools to their daily work.  Additionally, this role may also lead a team of QMS / CI specialists through a portfolio of mid-large size projects while coaching others to learn and apply QMS Principles and Tools to their daily work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and directs site’s QMS / CI conversion activities
  • Actively deploy and coach the organization on QMS / CI tools and facilitates Kaizen events
  • Assist in the creation of key metrics for groups company wide and develops the performance measurements
  • Daily Management Process w/Plan – Do – Check – Act (PDCA) expert / go-to person
  • Lead and facilitate cross functional problem solving and process improvement teams
  • Identify improvement opportunities across functional areas and Value Streams
  • Supports the development of QMS / CI candidates
  • Develops 5S / model cell methodologies to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
  • Facilitate root cause identification / corrective & preventive actions including the implementation of temporary countermeasures throughout the business and identify the correct QMS / CI tool to use to improve these
  • Coordinate and champion the identification Non-Value Added (NVA) activities throughout the business
  • Coordinate and lead facility layout and design projects
  • Create and update standard playbooks
  • Demonstrated experience with Hoshin Kanri / Strategic Policy Deployment
  • Help define and promote company’s QMS / CI vision, methodology, practices and tooling to enhance overall performance
  • Kaizen funnel and sustainment management
  • Coaches and mentors teams providing QMS / CI transformation strategy and implementation advise
    • Ensure QMS / CI / Lean competencies and capabilities are developed across functional areas
  • Develops and maintains QMS / CI training material and curriculum to enable continued development of internal capability in the application of these materials
  • Quantifies and publicizes the realized benefits of QMS / CI improvements as it applies to the company’s financial performance
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in the design, planning, construction and maintenance of facility related infrastructure. Support facility modifications and capital improvement projects. Collaborate in the coordination and execution of building space allocations.
  • Audits existing processes and systems to assess / determine required improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Technical or Business related discipline with 4 – 5 years of experience. MBA or Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years in a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical device / pharmaceutical / IVD preferred
  • Demonstrated hands on experience with Lean tools / methodologies concepts – Lean Certification highly desirable
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Toyota Production System experience highly desirable
  • Ability to translate performance improvement to financial performance
  • Ability to utilize presentation skills to influence others to meet project objectives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process controls techniques including statistical process control and data analysis techniques
  • Financial reporting experience
