Overview

The Executive Director will lead a nation-wide phlebotomy mobile network – ExamOne, WHS Provider, Quest Mobile, and Affiliates.  The network provides phlebotomy related collections for the life insurance industry, wellness events for major corporations, HLS & CRO study collections, and other collections and is one of the largest networks in the country. S/He will lead and execute transformation for the network to drive growth, profitability, automation, and innovation. 

The purpose of the role is to 1) effectively lead network to achieve all goals and 2) transform the network from the current state of separate parts to a combined network to meet all Quest Diagnostics current and future needs. This is a hands-on, full-cycle role that develops, executes, and ensures the success of strategies, innovation, and services. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and execute strategies & innovation to drive & lead successful outcomes. This role requires a leader with proven track record leading large scale operations driving strategy, innovation, and execution that delivers significant growth and profitability. The successful Executive Director will disrupt status quo and provides innovative new service delivery to accelerate growth while collaborating effectively with ExamOne, WHS, other internal stakeholders, and customers. S/He collaborates very closely with VP/GM of ExamOne, VP/GM WHS, Executive Director Patient Services and other executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the mobile phlebotomy network supporting ExamOne, WHS, Quest Mobile (about 4,500 employees).  May also lead some small, supporting groups.
  • In addition to Quest networks, collaborates with our Affiliate network (about 1,240 resources in 50 affiliate offices) to ensure attainment of service, cost, growth, and profit attainment).
  • Leads, engages, aligns, and develops network leaders and ensures attainable of all people goals for the network.
  • Leads the transformation / continuous improvement for the network.
  • Provides strategy and project leadership to reinvent the mobile network (approximately 4,500 employees – primarily on-call) and find new ways to leverage this impressive network to drive growth.
  • Leads cross functional teams, setting and monitoring key performance indicators, and working collaboratively with other departments to drive growth and ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional customer experiences. 
  • Champions data-driven execution excellence, team integration and process harmonization, as well as the modernization, and implementation of products, services, technology, and tools. 
  • Deploys continuous improvement, automation, efficiency to optimize the overall customer experience, satisfaction, and loyalty with current and new clients. 
  • Drives Growth & Profitability by developing and executing strategies to drive significant revenue growth through effective transformation and innovation.
  • Collaborates with peers, key stakeholders to drive success for both own business and collective enterprise; partner closely with the affiliate network, PSC network, and others.
  • Estimate up to 25% travel

Qualifications

Required Work Experience:  

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business/engineering/health related discipline is required. 
  • An advanced degree is strongly preferred. 
  • A minimum 15 years of related experience and at least 5 years of large scope leadership and management experience.
  • A track record of successful multi-site, transformational leadership with proven growth and profitability results.
  • Multi-site health care or related industry; large / complex corporate experience.

Preferred Work Experience:  

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, create, and drive change, and the ability to build cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated success in motivating team members to reach objectives, and the ability to build followership across organizational boundaries and navigate/collaborate in a complex, highly-matrixed organization.
  • Strong project/team management skills, and the ability to effect continuous improvement actions through problem solving skills and knowledge of quality tools.
  • Flexibility to meet continuously changing priorities and challenges.
  • Preferred location is Lenexa, KS (Kansas City) but will be open to top talent in other US areas.
