Overview

The Director of Product Innovation will establish the vision, goals and priorities for product innovation and lead a team in the identification of opportunities to create new product offerings and enhance existing wellbeing and safety solutions for employers. This role is responsible for identifying and executing on disruptive offerings which address unmet market needs in the employer market, delivering on growth targets, and driving the long-term strategy to maintain a competitive advantage.

 

A highly visible position, this leader will collaborate across marketing, scientific, clinical, commercial, and technology teams to translate diagnostic insights into innovative, scalable, market-ready offerings aligned with Workforce Health Solutions’ growth strategy.

 

The position reports to the Senior Director, Product and will be required to be on-site at the Company’s Lenexa, KS location a minimum of three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product-related growth in the employer channel
  • Define and communicate a clear product innovation strategy aligned with WHS goals
  • Develop and execute the product strategy for a portfolio of innovative employer wellbeing and safety solutions in alignment with WHS goals 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, growth, agility, and accountability within the product team
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, partnerships and opportunities to inform product strategy
  • Work with Sr. Director of Product to develop long-term innovation roadmaps and prioritize initiatives
  • Manage and mentor product managers and build a high performing team 
  • Develop product growth plans, focusing on validating product-market fit, opportunity, and understanding the customer and their pain points
  • Collaborate with internal teams (data science, clinical, R&D, sales, marketing) and external partners (startups, platforms, wearable companies) to drive innovation and growth.
  • Facilitate ideation sessions and workshops across departments
  • Lead efforts to determine product-market fit through customer research and validation
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of innovative products from concept to launch
  • Evaluate and propose emerging technologies such as software and automation to drive operational efficiencies and facilitate new business opportunities. 
  • Define KPIs for innovation initiatives and measure impact
  • Evaluate success of product launches and iterate based on feedback and performance data
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of product managers and cross-functional contributors.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader at customer meetings and industry events.
  • Advocate for the voice of the employer and employee to ensure products meet real-world needs.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience: 

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product development, or innovation leadership roles in healthcare, digital health, diagnostics, or employer wellness.
  • Bachelor’s degree (required), master’s degree (preferred)

Preferred Work Experience: 

  • Prior experience in B2B2C health or wellness platforms
  • Experience working in or with diagnostic labs, health plans, benefits consultants, or corporate wellness providers.

Knowledge: 

  • Proven track record of launching innovative digital health or wellness solutions with measurable impact.
  • Deep understanding of employer benefits, population health, employee engagement, and wellness ROI strategies.
  • Exposure to design thinking and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with regulatory and privacy frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)

Skills: 

  • Demonstrated ability to translate market, customer insights into products with high adoption/growth rates
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
