Overview

Responsible for driving excellence in Supply Chain management nationally for Quest Diagnostics.  Supply Chain Excellence encompasses inventory management solutions, materials replenishment strategies and supplier collaboration to drive improvements in transportation, material presentation and operational cost. Sr. Director, National Supply Chain Operations will have primary responsibility for evolving the inventory management practices, tools and techniques utilized by Quest Diagnostics.

 

This is a national position and may be based out of any one of our locations across the US. Travel 50-75%.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of Supply Stream operations including:
    • Drive standardization of inventory management practices, stocking, and replenishment process across enterprise.
    • Develop and deploy national training program for materials planning and management to drive functional excellence and improve operational performance.
  • Management of Center-Led operations including
    • Direct leadership of select enterprise material operations
    • Management and operations of third-party warehousing solutions
    • New acquisition supply chain system integration efforts
    • Creation of custom re-supply programs with key strategic suppliers
  • Develop of strategic supply chain roadmap for organization
    • Define strategic roadmap and direct the implementation and execution of Material Management practices nationwide.
    • Define and manage supply management key performance indicator targets (KPI’s) across the network, which allow the company to effectively manage and grow bottom line results.
    • Define a lean transformation and daily management process
    • Develop tools, and techniques to optimize inventories levels and assure effective utilization of corporate systems
  • Interact cross functionally with other NSCO teams

 

Qualifications

Required Work Experience: 

  • At least 10 years’ experience in purchasing/ supply chain management, operations management
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a manager/director role

  • Leadership of Regional Material Management operations including:
    • Development and implementation of Centralized Planning Organization
    • Drive standardization of inventory management practices, stocking, and replenishment process across enterprise.
    • Develop and deploy national training program for materials planning and management to drive functional excellence and improve operational performance.
  • Management of Center-Led operations including
    • Direct leadership of select regional material operations
    • Management and operations of third-party warehousing solutions
    • Centralized Planning Team
    • New acquisition supply chain system integration efforts
    • Creation of custom re-supply programs with key strategic suppliers
    • Develop of strategic supply chain roadmap for organization
  • Define strategic roadmap and direct the implementation and execution of Material Management practices nationwide.
    • Define and manage supply management key performance indicator targets (KPI’s) across the network, which allow the company to effectively manage and grow bottom line results.

  • Manage supply chain disruptions for the enterprise
  • Ability to build relationships across the company with internal partners and supplier executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of leading supply chain optimization strategies and techniques
  • Expert level knowledge of supply chain planning techniques, statistical modeling, and forecasting
  • Experience implementing lean principles in an operations environment.

 

A four-year degree is required. Concentration in supply chain management, engineering, or quantitative business management.

 

Master’s in operations management or supply management preferred

 

Lean Six/Sigma Black Belt certification preferred

 

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Knowledge of the diagnostic testing industry preferred

 

Technical /Job Specific Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the diagnostic testing industry.
  • Ability to build relationships across the company with internal partners and supplier executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of leading supply chain optimization strategies and techniques
  • Expert level knowledge of supply chain planning techniques, statistical modeling, and forecasting
